The UCA hosts the following events each year for it's
members. These events provide networking opportunities as
well as a little bit of fun!
50th Anniversary Gala

On Saturday, November 17, 2007, UCA hosted a 50th Anniversary
Gala at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Illinois.
**The Gala took place of this year's UCA Annual Dinner and Holiday
Party.**
This unforgettable Gala began with drinks and hors d'oeuvres while
touring the only German submarine in the United States, the U-505. Attendees
had the chance to take a look inside this pivotal piece of history that
has now become a national memorial to the 55,000 American Sailors who gave their
lives on the high seas during WWI and WWII.
Once the reception concluded, members made their way to the main rotunda
where dinner and dancing took place surrounded by the museum's
Christmas Around the World Exhibit. The exhibit featured over 50 trees
uniquely displaying hand-made crafts and ornaments passed from one cultural
generation to the next. The exhibit began over six decades ago as a United
Nations salute to American Allies during World War II. Most of the museum's main
floor exhibits was open to UCA guests as they enjoyed the live entertainment
provided by an eight piece band.
Thanks to all who joined us as we celebrated this milestone and unforgettable
evening!

Annual Membership Dinner
|
The UCA Membership Dinner hosts our annual trade show which allows UCA Associate
members to showcase their products/services to the association's Contractor
members. Prospective members are encouraged to attend and meet UCA members to
get a feel of what the association and its members have to offer. This
year, the UCA Membership Dinner was held at the beautiful European Crystal
Conference Center in Arlington Heights. Safety awards and scholarships are also
awarded at this event.
The 2008 Annual Membership Dinner and Tradeshow will be Thursday, April 17th
at the Belvedere Banquet Facility in Elk Grove Village. The tradeshow,
cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres start at 5pm, dinner starts at 6:30pm, and awards
begin at 7pm! UCA Scholarship winners
and new members will all be recognized on this evening. Bring plenty of business
cards!

Stronghold Society

The Stronghold Society is the financial backbone of the
Underground Contractors Association’s Governmental Affairs program. Membership
indicates your personal leadership and business commitment to the advancement of
the underground construction industry.
Funds raised through the Stronghold Society are dedicated to promoting and
protecting the underground industry. Your financial support ensures that those
companies and individuals involved in delivering clean and reliable drinking
water, efficient wastewater and stormwater removal, and associated
infrastructure and support will have a strong and clear voice on issues of
interest.
UCA's Stronghold Society Golf Outing will be held on Monday, September 15,
2008, at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. Please contact Scott Dworschak for more

Annual Dinner Meeting
|
Each year, held in October, UCA invites members of the association to an
informative evening reviewing old & new business of the association. Every two
years a new President and new Associate board members are inducted. In 2006, UCA inducted
Terry Barnett of Glenbrook Excavating and Concrete, Inc, as
President of the Association.

December is the time of year that UCA and its members get to relax and enjoy an evening of wining & dining downtown. With more than 300 members joining us for dinner & dancing, it's one of the more enjoyable evenings of the year.

Annual Convention
